Two high-level deputies disagree on return of death penalty in Uzbekistan

Two vice-speakers of the Legislative chamber expressed contrasting opinions on the death penalty. Following the news of a child’s murder in Tashkent, Alisher Qodirov stated that such individuals “should not live”. Odiljon Tojiev argued that the death penalty would not reduce crime rates.
